Mod Wood Fencing / Screening:

Made from recycled wood and plastic, our products are wood composites. They look and feel like natural timber, but require none of the maintenance of traditional woods. You will not need to paint or stain our products since they already come in a range of colours and will maintain their beauty for years to come.
If you love the look of timber fencing but are worried about the longevity and maintenance costs, composite fencing is another option to consider. While not quite as popular or timeless as timber fencing, composite fencing is growing in popularity on commercial and residential properties.

Mod Wood Screen is available in natural wood tones or can be painted to the customer’s specifications, with all the styles and profiles of traditional timber fencing available.

Fence Construction

As the name suggests, compo

site fencing is made from wood combined with a secondary material, usually synthetic plastic fibers and other inorganic fillers. The addition of extra materials reduces the amount of timber required in constructing fencing supplies, which reduces costs without sacrificing strength to preserve the natural looking exterior of fence posts or full fence panels.

Low Maintenance

If you desires the wooden fencing l

ook without the associated maintenance, composite fencing can be a cost-effective solution. This fencing can be power washed without the risk of rotting or warping associated with full timber fences, and UV stabilising means it won’t fade over time. Composite fencing is suitable for use even in harsh climates, and won’t need to be repainted every few years.

Environmental Benefits

Between 50 and 100 per cent of the inorganic materials used in the fence’s construction are diverted from landfill, so composite fencing can even lower your business’s impact on the environment – especially as no chemical preservatives need to be used.
ModWood’s use of eco friendly decking materials makes the products particularly suitable for ecologically sensitive areas, as they contain no nasty chemicals that could leach out. The environment doubly benefits, as the product uses recycled and waste products which would otherwise be squandered, potentially ending up as landfill.

Paling Fencing:

Paling fences are available in treated softwood or untreated hardwood. Treated fences are more durable than hardwood fences with a estimated lifespan of around 40 years.
Most commonly, Radiata or cypress pine is used for exterior fencing. Pine is a softwood and is suited to pressure treatment. It is the preservative treatment that allows a softwood to become durable in outdoor and exposed locations.

The timbers are pressure impregnated with a light organic solvent preservative (LOSP). LOSP gives the timber a green appearance that stays with the life of the fence. Treated pine fences can be painted, stained or left raw.

There are 2 main protection levels. Timber for above ground use (palings and rails) are graded as H3. Timber for below ground (such as fence posts) are given a higher degree of treatment and are graded as H4
Palings are usually H3 treated These are above ground use only, exposed to weather and dampness

Decking, fence pickets & CCA rails, pergolas, exposed bearers & cladding are usually H3
Garden edging is H4 In ground or ground CCA contact, outside Fence posts, sleepers, landscaping, garden edges and boxes.
Timber Fencing :

Timber fencing can be created into countless designs and styles. A common type of designer timber fencing is made from a variety of decking materials, such as Merbau or Balau decking slats.

Standard timber fencing can consists of timber posts, horizontal timber rails and vertical timber palings, in a choice of either pine or hardwood products. Alternatively, you could substitute timber posts for galvanized steel posts for added peace of mind, improved longevity or a unique look. Standard timber fencing can be customised to suit your lifestyle by varying the gap between palings, or overlapping your palings.
